Why is humour such an important part of human societies? This course explores the nature of humour and its defining attributes.
Differences between cultures, the way it has evolved historically as a human phenomenon, the relationship between human development and humour, and genres of humour will be included in the course.
The course will run as an interactive learning program with many opportunities for participants to contribute.
Liberal use will be made of examples to illustrate the elements of humour and promote discussion.
